Cheltenham-based plumbing, heating and electrical specialists, Shackleton, Wintle & Lane (SW&L), completed the 16 mile hike across the picturesque hills of Malvern, raising £610.00 for the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.
A mixture of SW&L employees, family, friends and dogs met on the morning of Saturday 20th July in Holly Bush, ready to embark upon a range of hills which span across the Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire counties.
The energetic trek along the ridge of the Malvern Hills provided some astounding views of the Cotswolds, the Welsh hills, the Shropshire Hills and the Peak District which were all visible in the distance.
SW&L Chief Executive, John Rogers explained “It was a great challenge and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves despite the changeable weather, this is the first of a number of different fundraisers we have planned over the next 12 months for Sue Ryder”.
A special thank you to Senior Contracts Manager Martin Dawe who organised the event, planned the route and safely navigated the group over the peaks for what proved to be a memorable day.
We are delighted to present this cheque to Sue Ryder; fundraising is not just a means of raising money, but also a way to promote the message and goals of a charity. Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice is the only palliative care inpatient unit in Gloucestershire and provides expert care and support for people who are living with a life-limiting condition.
